Former EPA official urges action to prevent US chemical disaster

Former Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Christine Todd Whitman this month put her support behind a controversial proposal for EPA to use its authority under the Clean Air Act to require US chemical facilities to switch to safer alternatives.
