Philippines - Construction of $120 million ethanol plant delayed
Thursday March 15 2012
Last year's typhoon has delayed the construction of a $120-million ethanol and cogeneration facility in Isabela province in Philippines to June this year. Green Future Innovations Inc. of Japan has commissioned the plant.
Green Future, led by Itochu Corp. and Japan Gas Corp.(JGC), said that the construction incurred slight delay on account of bad weather last year, although the mechanical equipment for the plant is in place. Itochu Manila general manager Kenichi Hisatomi confirmed the delay when asked about the status of the plant. The company has tapped JGC Philippines Inc. as project contractor.
