EU trade commissioner urges more deals with Asian countries

The European Union should strive to conclude free trade agreements with several Asian countries in order to tap into these sources of growth rather than "watch from the sidelines," European Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht said in a speech, in Hong Kong, on Thursday, Agra Europe reports.
Following last year's FTA with South Korea, the EU should finalize a deal with Singapore this summer and then try to wrap up bilateral negotiations with Malaysia and India, he said.
