Increase in bird flu reports in Q1

Well over 800 outbreaks of highly pathogenic bird flu in poultry were reported to the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) in the first three months of this year, in a dozen countries around the world.
Egypt remains one of the worst hit regions, with 190 outbreaks reported between January and March. Indonesia was also badly affected, reporting 383 cases in January and February alone.
