China to limit grain use in biofuel and non-feed projects

In an attempt to secure domestic grain supplies, China has announced that it will limit alcohol, biofuel and other non-animal-feed projects that use grain and edible oils.
The government will also limit corn starch projects with processing capacity of less than 300 000 tonnes per year, and eliminate projects with an annual capacity of less than 100 000t, the National Development & Reform Commission (NDRC) confirmed.
