NYSE Liffe SMP futures to soldier on, despite low volumes

Even though big dairy players had indicated an active interest in the financial product, skimmed milk powder (SMP) futures offered by NYSE Liffe have not seen the trading volumes the exchange had hoped for.
There is however no danger that the plug will be pulled any time soon, Elena Patimova, NYSE Liffe's business development manager, commodity derivatives, told told Dairy Markets on the fringes of a grains conference in Kiev.
